Originally a park next to Bill Neumeier's first restaurant, Coney Island, 817 Garrison Avenue began its legacy as a beer garden in the Summer of 1994. Local musicians performed in the Beer Garden the first couple of seasons, under a couple of clamp-lights with colored bulbs hanging from one of the oak trees! In the summer of 1995, the Beer Garden promoted its first national touring act on a make-shift stage. Over the years, the location continued to enhance the stage and beer garden and became known as the legendary Neumeier's Rib Room & Beer Garden. In 2008, Neumeier's Rib Room moved to 424 Garrison Avenue and the site became a live music venue. The unique juke joint introduced Fort Smith to countless impressive artists, such as Monte Montgomery, Paul Thorn, and Theresa Anderson.
